I bought a three night stay at 3* The Crown Hotel, Blockley (a quiet Cotswold village) with breakfast, wine and a late check-out through Wowcher. I was a bit worried as I later read that, once booked, the stay was non-refundable. As a result, I left booking as close to my husband's birthday as possible and thought that I might have difficulty. However, to my surprise, I managed to get three nights in July, although later that week all 27 rooms were fully booked. Because the hotel was so busy we didn't have the late check out but we weren't planning to stay till late anyway as we wanted to visit Broadway which is very close. Our room was clean and comfortable with a flat screen TV and coffee/tea making facilities. We ate in the hotel restaurant on our first evening and enjoyed our meal which included Sri Lankan options as well as traditional dishes. For breakfast guests can help themselves to toast, juice, coffee or tea, then order a full English breakfast to be brought to the table. Fruit and yoghurt are also on offer. We really enjoyed our stay. What makes this hotel special is the warm welcome and the friendliness of the staff. Blockley also makes an ideal base for exploring nearby Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the Wold. Batsford Arboretum (with its café and garden centre) is also worth visiting. Blockley is famous as the film location for the Father Brown Mysteries and the Crown Hotel often features in this BBC TV series.

The Crown. Absolutely superb hotel at Blockley in the Cotswold. Saving over £200.00 for 3 day stay via WOUCHER. Food. Staff and village is absolutely excellent. We are going back in December.

A compact but adequate room in an old characterful mid village pub. Staffed by friendly people, they provided good food for breakfast and dinner. We were dissapointed not to recieve our included wine with the meal though.We were quoted an unrealistic price to extend our stay by an extra night so dissapointly had to leave this lovely area earlier than wished.
