Birmingham Christmas Market
Birmingham's Christmas market is the largest authentic German market outside of Germany, and they're back bigger and better for 2022! The market is always guaranteed to bring you festive cheer and delicious food and drink like hot Gluhwein, hot chocolate, roasted almonds, schnitzel and spicy sausages in a bun. The big wheel is still overlooking the market and the huge Christmas tree, so make sure you head up there to grab the best photos! You could easily spend a whole day here with family and friends browsing the many market stalls looking to pick up Christmas presents and sampling all of Germany's best delicacies. Don't forget to get your skates on and have a go on the ice rink!
Winterfunland Birmingham
After the success in Manchester and Birmingham last year, Winterfunland is returning to Birmingham's NEC arena for 2022! The UK's largest indoor Christmas funfair will be back from 10th December 2022 to 2nd January 2023. This is the perfect festive experience for all the family to enjoy together. There's rides, games and even a Christmas circus. You'll get 4 hours of unlimited rides on fairground amusements and get the opportunity to skate on the huge ice rink! Everything is included in the price of your ticket (except Santa's grotto). This is also the perfect opportunity to dig out those Christmas jumpers and get into the festive spirit, and as it's indoors, there's no need to worry about the weather! Once you're worn out from all the Christmas activities, you can tuck into delicious burgers, candy floss, chips, hot dogs and a lot more.
The Enchanted Gardens At Webbs
Transport yourself to a whole new world this Christmas with a trail of twinkly lights leading you to the snowy North Pole! This magical experience can be found at the Riverside Gardens at Webbs, Wychbold. There are six different stories, which will be shown to you through bright lighting, huge lanterns, projections and imaginative sounds, a unique festive experience for the whole family to enjoy together! Stories include a one-legged tin soldier fighting to win the heart of a beautiful dancing ballerina. You'll also spot a deserted, undisturbed palace where Sleeping Beauty lies on a moss covered bed. Stroll along the riverbank, watch the forest animals come out to explore at night, and keep an eye out for the troll as you cross the bridge! Take a trip on the Snow Queen's snow sledge to the North Pole. We'd also recommend going to the additional stop of Santa's snowy workshop for some great photo opportunities!
Reindeer Park
For a real special treat this Christmas, why not whisk the family away to a campsite stay at Reindeer Park? This truly is a unique camping experience you won't have seen before! They have a herd of reindeer that stay on site and are available to hire. The lodge has seen some very famous guests over the years including Albert the Red Deer (from Braveheart) so you'll be staying amongst stars this festive season! With over 100 acres of pristine park and woodland areas to explore, it's got to be one of the most beautiful locations in the West Midlands, and is ideal for getting you into the Christmas spirit. There's also plenty of animals to see around the site, and you'll be provided with fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast each day!
West Midlands Safari Park, Santa Safari
Experience a magical festive day out with the whole family this winter with a 4 mile winter safari adventure, and a special visit to see Santa in his grotto! You'll get an allocated time slot to meet the main man himself, and along the trail, his helpful Elves will guide you to the sleigh where you'll be transported directly to the North Pole and arrive at Santa's grotto. The beautifully decorated log cabin, where you'll find Santa, has its very own Christmas tree and warming festive fireplace, so you'll be nice and cosy on your visit! Make sure you let Santa know what's at the top of your Christmas list so he can work his magic, and don't forget to smile and pose to have your photo taken with him. You'll be shown into the Elves workshop before you leave, where each child will get to choose their own present, and we're sure they'll be spoiled for choice here! This experience is available from 25th November to 24th December, but make sure you book in advance.
The Nutcracker
The festive family classic is back for another year at Birmingham Hippodrome! Sir Peter Wright's production will have you feeling festive and Christmassy in no time. Prepare to be swept away into the most enchanting winter wonderland of dancing snowflakes, magical Christmas trees and keep an eye out for the Sugar Plum Fairy! The exquisite sets have had a rebuild, so if you're an annual attender, you're sure to notice some new changes and additions. The 60 members of Royal Ballet Sinfonia will have you in a trance as they take centre stage alongside the Birmingham Royal Ballet Company, and transport you on this incredible journey. Shows are running from Saturday 19th November to Saturday 10th December, so make sure you get your tickets early to grab the best seats in the house!
Christmas At Warwick Castle
If you find yourself in or near Birmingham this festive season, then you mustn't miss out on this spectacular attraction just outside the city! Christmas at Warwick Castle is bringing some amazing events back and transforming into the ultimate winter wonderland to get you in the Christmas spirit. Running from 26th November to 2nd January, you can expect to see lots of twinkling trees and delightful decorations! Your children will get the chance to make some special memories with Santa as well as Mrs Claus as they read you a Christmas story.
